Smolen & Roytman founding partner received accolades for leading the firm in fighting longstanding injustice and official misconduct in Tulsa while securing record-setting verdicts and settlements in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In 2017, Dan led the firm in securing a $10.25 million jury verdict against Tulsa County Sheriff for the Estate of Elliott Williams. This verdict was the largest civil rights death claim verdict in Oklahoma history. In 2018, he reached a $6 million settlement with the Tulsa County Sheriff on behalf of the Estate of Eric Harris. The Harris settlement is the largest excessive force settlement in Oklahoma history.
In 2019, Dan won a summary jury trial in the Eastern District of Oklahoma for $20 million, a during-trial settlement of $3.2 million, and a $4 million civil rights verdict.
