Wednesday, September 30 was a victorious day for the citizens of Tulsa. Justice was served.
On that day, a grand jury indicted Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz on charges of mismanaging his department and failing to perform his official duties when he refused to release information and a 2009 report during the investigation into former reserve deputy Robert Bates.
If you missed it, Robert Bates, a friend of the sheriff’s and a volunteer deputy in his department, apparently mistook a revolver for a stun gun and shot and killed Eric Harris earlier this year.
Glanz announced his resignation in a statement on Wednesday and will officially step down on November 1. His next court hearing is scheduled for November 10.
