As we begin another year, we look back at 2015 as a year of big wins both for our clients but also for our team and our community. We made headlines a few times and once again saw three of our attorneys named to the Oklahoma Super Lawyers list. The real super part of our job has not only been these events but our involvement with some of the wonderful organizations in our Tulsa community and the people that put their heart and soul into helping others in need every day.

Through the years, the firm has donated over $4 million to local, state and national non-profit groups, churches, and schools. In 2015, our donations contributed an additional $200,000 to this total. Here is a look back at the highlights of our year with the community we call home.

June 2015:

We sponsored the Blue Whale Comedy Festival in the Blue Dome District. This 4 day long fun festival brings a weekend of laughs to downtown Tulsa featuring stand-up comedians, improv troupes, live podcasts, music, and workshops.

September 2015:

In the fall, we sponsored the Cattle Baron Ball, for the American Cancer Society – Tulsa, which is Tulsa’s single largest American Cancer Society fundraiser and is responsible for raising more than $1.3 million in the past 7 years to fund lifesaving cancer research and services for cancer patients and their families.

November 2015:

We sponsored the Giving Spirits: A Whiskey Tasting Experience to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. This 2nd annual event helped to provide more than 300,000 people in our community with a meal.

SSR-United-Way-DriveDecember 2015:

SSR participated in the “Quiktrip Challenge” for the Tulsa Area United Way. We set a goal to raise $1,500 through employee donations, which was met by our incredible staff! By reaching this goal, Smolen Smolen & Roytman and Quicktrip each matched that total.

Christmas-adopted-family-2015Once again this holiday season, Smolen Smolen & Roytman made a family’s holiday a little brighter by helping to put presents under their tree. Our firm adopted a family through the Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle and donated wrapped gifts of books, toys, gift cards, clothing, and more.

It was a good year! Keep following us to the other organizations we partner with in 2016.
