Maryann Margaret Hon
Maryann Margaret Hon is the daughter-in-law of internationally, recognized wood carver Rusty Johnson and retired, Riverfield Country Day School music teacher Caroline Johnson. In January 2014, Maryann and her husband Ben, a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and the University of Oklahoma, moved to Tulsa in order for Maryann to join Smolen, Smolen & Roytman, PLLC as Donald E. Smolen, II’s Assistant and Civil Litigation Paralegal.
Maryann graduated from Westminster College (Fulton, Missouri) with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Political Science and a minor in European Studies. After graduating from Westminster College, Maryann attended Indiana State University (Terre Haute, Indiana) and received a Master’s of Arts Degree in English with a specialization in writing. After completing her Master’s degree, Maryann served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA for a year with the Delaware Mentoring Council, encouraging businesses to permit their employees to mentor children in grades K-12. Then, Maryann obtained her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law. Maryann is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and she will sit for the Oklahoma Bar examination in the future.
In her free time, Maryann enjoys knitting, reading, baking, spending time with friends and family, and taking walks with her husband. Maryann and Ben have four pets, two cats and two dogs, which they adopted from animal shelters.
